been digging this info ever since i knew i was pregnant and that time it's only abt 2 weeks we just bought Tykie....

Pet Safety Tips
Pregnant women need to be aware that toxoplasmosis (TOX-so-plaz-MO-sis) can cause problems with pregnancy, including abortion. Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii. This parasite is carried by cats and is passed in their feces (stool). However, people are more likely to get toxoplasmosis from eating undercooked meat or gardening than from contact with pet cats. By following simple safety tips, pregnant women can reduce the risk of getting toxoplasmosis from cats.
If you own a cat, have a non-pregnant person change the litter box every day. If there is no one else to change the litter box, wear gloves and wash hands with soap and running water after changing the litter. ( yg ni memang xngandung pun hubby yg buat...huhuhuhh)
Risk may be reduced if the litter box is changed every day . ( yeap, everyday we changed it...thanks to dear hubby.It's like a routine for him now to check that part )
Keep cats indoors. ( hehehheee..poor that little tykie...dia mmg xpenah duk main luar langsung..he's been a very gud indoor cat )
Avoid adopting or handling stray cats. ( yg ni memang xngandung pun saya jarang / kurang minat nak pegang )
Feed cats only canned or dried commercial cat food, never undercooked or raw meat. ( oooo yessss.....our little tykie only be fed by canned food or suggested by vet.No raw meat or makanan dlm rumah or "our lefties food" -- a big NO for him! xleh ajar..nanti dia curi ikan !hehehe)
Do not bring a new cat into your house that might have been an outdoor cat or might have been fed raw meat. ( Yg ni jauh sekali nak buat coz sini duk aptmen..so xkoser laa nak dukung kucing2 liar kat bawah tu bawak naik ataih....huhuhuhuh )

kak farah...betulla pasal cat n preggy mothers.shepah penah baca pasal article ni to sbb shepah x bela kucing so x amik pot pun.anyway,akak kene precaution laaar.kalo leh tykie tu hantaq tempat len dulu ka...nanti dh deliver batu amik balik.emmm...just my 2cent opinion..
farah..aku ade kucing yg aku bela since aku anak dara..umuq dah 3 tahun pun..alhamdulillah xde pape la masa aku pregnant walaupun dia suka tido atas kepala aku... tapi, no more la tido peluk2 aku..sebab dia jeles kat perut aku..
now bila aku dah deliver, dia dtg kat aku bila baby xde.. kacau baby jauh sekali... nasib baik..
conclusion, nak ade kucing bleh...but, bagi commercial food.. no-no to any meat.. and make sure dia selalu bersih la..insya-Allah takde apa2..
haah la.. aku pon baru teringat hal kucing n pregnancy.. baik2 ok? jgn dok pi cium2 sbb bulu tu bole bawa penyakit juga wpon kpd org yg tidak mengandung.. sejak aku bela kucing, aku xleh mkn painkiller sebarangan.. kalau tersilap amik, terpaksa g klinik pakai neubulizer.. walhal seblm tu kalau aku semput, aku pakai inhaler saje.. careful ok?
Nadd : Tq for ur concern...so far xdak tempat mau letak dia..sini bukan mcm mesia....nak tinggai kat pet shop pun sehari kena SR25.....adoi..kopak!!So in the mean time kak farah kurang pegang dia laa.....
Shaf: aku duk tunggu gak komen hang cozz aku tau hang ada kucing....so far mmg si tykie ni bersih sokmo...selalu mandi sumer....xpenah duk luaq.....aku pun paling2 pegang22 gitu jaa.....adoi..sgt irresistible laaa ...kalau dia dah duk main gonyoh2 muka kat kaki kita kan.....

farah, dia sebenarnya ditujukan kepada kucing yg makan daging...makanan basah dlm tin pun termasuk..tapi, aku hanya bagi makan dry food...no more playing outside house..habis sangat, aku ngan hubby bawa dia round2 naik keta tgk jln, tgk pokok, dll...
yg paling susah, jaga bulu dia la..kucing aku tu dah la bulu panjang 3 inci..so, hubby la jadi mangsa sikat bulu dia..
hubby aku cakap..itu semua kuasa Allah..kalau nak sakit, x bela kucing pun sakit..tawakal je la
